Also, in case you were wondering that cylindrical shape is an early phonograph cylinder. Originally made in tin, they were later mass-produced in a dark, hard waxy plastic and sold in cardboard jars roughly the size of those for peanut butter.
You're missing two of my favorites, the elusive 4 track and more common 8 track tapes of the early 70's.
Ahhh... The days when you had to have an apple crate in the back of your VW to carry around all of your music (not to mention the tape player the size of a full size library dictionary bolted to the bottom of your dash.
