Also, when I was in the 8th Grade, I actually did shot-put. And I was terrible at it. So there was this one tournament where I was competing in a group of 15. I got 15th place. However, I received a medal (I walked away happy, figuring it was "Everyone-Gets-A-Medal Day"), and then later found out that it was the 2nd Place medal, which was erroneously given to me because I was the second person signed up on the roster.
That medal is still in my drawer; it remains my life's most satisfying achievement.
