Also, have you ever tried eating - or at the very least, chewing on - raw ginger root? My old roommate and I once had a competition to see who could eat a piece of raw ginger faster. It was...an experience, to be sure.
I haven't had a ginger snap for years. Funny thin is that I like them also... But I like most cookies so that's not saying a lot.
